To review which requests have been recategorized, you can pull a data export. This article will show you how to export data and distinguish if an item has been recategorized.
Instructions
- Click on the Requests tab.
- Filter the data on the left column to the set of requests you want to analyze. For example, if you want to look at requests in a specific category for all time, make sure you select the category and all statuses Open, Acknowledged, Closed, and Archived.
Note: Save or Clear this set of filters by selecting Save or Clear at the bottom of the column. - Click the export icon in the top right corner.
- Select which file type you want to download and click Continue.
- Open the file.
- Once you have downloaded the report, compare column E “Summary” with column AB “Category”. If something has been recategorized, these two things won’t match.
Note: Summary is an older field that is also known as the title of the request. This is generally auto-populated when a requester submits an issue. The Category is the true request category that the request is tied to at the time of export. - Another way to review this information is to search for the term Recategorized in the left-side filter column in the Requests list. The full-text search will find the matching requests because that is used in the standard recategorization message.
Note: Using this method you might get all false positives along with that if someone used that term in a comment or description, for example.
